My interest in this item is/was for the radome alone, which I want to use for an unrelated hobby project. My intention is/was to part out the internals for the BLDC servo motors etc. It might also be useful in a stationary application for satellite engineering development or monitoring, since the DAC 2202 is very smart, and all you have to do is enter the longitude of the desired satellite, and it will slew to it, and automatically peak and pol on a specified carrier with its very sophisticated search, so you don’t have to go up to the roof all the time to repoint. This unit was used on a semi-stationary fresh water work barge on the upper Mississippi by the Corps of Engineers and appears to be in excellent condition. There is no salt water corrosion, and I think it saw very limited motion since entering service is 2010. I powered up the DAC 2202 controller, which is set to the default admin password, and all menus appear to work. By this I mean I would carefully unbolt and individually package in a sealed bag and bubble wrap each active component, including the servo motors, belts, chain, pulleys, bearings, LNBs, BUC, cable assys, N-SMA fittings, limit sensors, GPS antenna, feed horn, rotary joint(s), power ring, power supplies, FSK modems, motorbox, coax switch, the DAC 2202, compass adapter panel, iDirect modem, etc. Basically everything but the radome, heavy aluminum structural elements, and the reflector. If you have a Sea Tel 6009-33 in a mission critical application, I would think carrying such a complete spares kit would be a good hedge. (I can find a different radome for my project). The unit weighs about 575 lbs, and measures about 80 inches in diameter, and about 80 inches high on an oversized pallet. And be much simpler, (but does not include the radome, reflector, or heavy aluminum plates). (Please contact me regarding this). I can provide more pictures as well. Feel free to contact me, and we can arrange a time to discuss details via telephone.
