A gunsmith friend of mine told me you can build an 80% gen 5 Glock now and I have built 3 of them so far. They work better than the Polymer 80 frames, and are much better quality. They can also be built with Gen 1-5 parts, and you can switch from gen 1-3 to Gen 4-5 with a simple snap in and out adapter strip. The only difference with gens 1-4 and 5 is a very slight 5 minute modification that anyone can do and I have all the info needed to give you if thats the route you want to go. The modification is to allow the ambidextrous slide stop that all gen 5s have. They also use the same rails as a factory Glock, so theres no typical polymer 80 rail issues or failure to function issues. Eventually theyll have full size and subcompact and put polymer 80 out of business. I can put you in touch with a in stock supplier for the Freedom Wolf 80% frames if your interested.
